Rotary kiln is a basic type of kiln. The reason why it is very popular is that the utilization rate of the kiln is quite high, especially the use effect is very good and the production efficiency is high. Because rotary kiln belongs to intermittent kiln, it has large heat storage loss and heat dissipation loss, high flue gas temperature and high heat consumption. It is necessary to add a waste heat utilization device to improve this defect. Generally, the temperature of this kind of kiln is 1350-1650 ℃, and the outlet temperature of flue is about 1100-1400 ℃. Therefore, a lot of heat is wasted, and the heat utilization rate is only 20-40%. If a heat exchanger is used, the heat in the flue can be recovered to heat the combustion supporting air, dry or other purposes.

If the metal heat exchanger is used, the waste heat can be recovered. However, if the flue temperature of rotary kiln reaches above 800 ℃, the metal heat exchanger is very easy to be damaged by high temperature, and the purpose of waste heat recovery cannot be achieved. If the kiln temperature is higher than 800 ℃ and the flue temperature is lower than 800 ℃, it seems suitable to use metal heat exchanger. However, in case of power failure, large gas volume and insufficient combustion supporting air volume, the flue temperature will be rapidly higher than 800 ℃ and the metal heat exchanger will be burned out quickly.

We can carry out the energy-saving operation of the kiln under the premise of ensuring the production quality, and reduce the beginning of killing two birds with one stone. Well, in order to make the kiln more energy-saving, the above two methods can solve this problem very well. The latter has stronger limitations. We should choose according to the actual situation.
