Direct reduction method is divided into gas-based method and coal-based method. In the former, H2 and co gases are produced by cracking natural gas as reducing agent to reduce iron oxide in iron ore to sponge iron in shaft furnace, tank furnace or fluidized bed. There are mainly Midrex method, hyliii method, fior method and so on. The latter uses coal as reducing agent to reduce iron oxide in iron ore in rotary kiln equipment, mainly including fasmet method.
