Quick Facts
| Where | Baiyin, Gansu, China |
| What | Φ3.0×60m zinc oxide rotary kiln + full line |
| For | Zinc residues, dust, low-grade ore |
| Output | 10,000 TPY (about 30 TPD) |
| Key number | 91% zinc recovery, first year |
The Feedstock Was All Over the Place
Baiyin is old zinc country. The customer had residues piling up—dust, slag, low-grade ore—with zinc content bouncing between 20% and 35%. They needed a line that could swallow the variability without constant shutdowns.
Their previous small kilns couldn‘t do it. Low recovery, frequent ringing, and no real emission control.
What We Built
A complete 10,000 TPY line around a Φ3.0×60m rotary kiln. The process is straightforward: mix zinc material with coke, feed it in, heat to 1,000–1,200°C, let the zinc vaporize and re-oxidize, then catch the oxide in the dust collection system .
The details that matter:
Variable speed drive so operators can adjust residence time when feedstock shifts
Batching system with controlled coke ratio—this is where ringing gets prevented
Four-stage gas cleaning: settling chamber, surface cooler, bag filter, desulfurization
PLC control that actually gets used, not just installed and ignored
From Factory to First Pour
Fifty-five days to manufacture. Full assembly and test before shipping. Our engineers spent eighteen days in Baiyin—installation oversight, commissioning, and standing next to the customer’s operators until they were comfortable. Stable output came within two weeks.
Numbers That Matter
| Target | Actual | |
|---|---|---|
| Annual output | 10,000 t | 10,200 t |
| Zinc recovery | 88% | 91% |
| Kiln uptime | 85% | 92% |
| SO₂ emissions | <400 mg/m³ | 280 mg/m³ |
The customer put it simply: “It runs. We don‘t babysit it.”
Why Henan Hongke Heavy Machinery
Rotary kilns, Rotary Dryers, ball mills, crushers, and the lines that connect them. One-stop solution, turnkey delivery. We build for your material, not for a spec sheet.
Questions We Get Asked
My zinc content is lower than 15%. Can this still work?Depends on your coke cost and current zinc price. We‘ll run the numbers honestly—no point selling you a line that bleeds money.
How do you stop ringing?Coke ratio, temperature profile, feed sizing. The variable speed drive helps, but the real answer is process control, not just equipment.
Lead time?About 55 days for this configuration. Longer if you need special alloys or a custom layout.
Got zinc residues sitting around? Send us the assay. We‘ll tell you what a line would look like and what it would cost. Straight numbers, no sales pitch.
